    The absolute worst dining experience of my life. First they told us to sit anywhere we liked....then they asked us to move. The restaurant only had about 3 people in it but every table was full of dirty plates so we sat at the least dirty of them. Luckily someone showed up with a dirty rag to clean it off for us. 15 mins later we got menus and were lucky enough to order 15 mins after that. Rude waitress and Horrible food. My kids will eat anything and both of them decided they would rather go hungry. I ordered a Rib Sandwich and received 3 bone in ribs on top of a piece of soggy white-bread....fo' real? yes, for real. My wife ordered mashed potatoes as a side. They gave her rice instead. When my wife asked "why" the waitress' response was "we don't have no mashed potatoes, so i figured YOU want rice"....my wife is asian so understood her stereotypical thinking. Fortunately my wife does love rice. Got the check early and left for another restaurant. We love trying out "new to us" restaurants. Unfortunately I picked this one....and it sucked.

    How is this place still in business? In the vast wasteland that is Jacksonville BBQ, this rates as the worst in all of Clay County.. First of all, I knew I was in trouble when I heard the guy in the kitchen pounding away with a cleaver on my order of pork. It came out the same texture as tuna from a can. In fact, tuna from a can makes for a better representation of barbecue than this crap. There was no smoke flavor at all, and the pork tasted like it had been soaking in water. The sauce (mustard based) was no help, it was just a runny flavorless mess. Once again in a north Florida barbecue joint, the best thing I had was the Texas toast. Actually the collards were very good, so good in that I mixed the pork, beans, and collards all together so the pork would be touched by something with some flavor. The service was good, but my advice is to just stay away, if you're in Orange Park and must have BBQ, take a drive out to G's in Middleburg, or up 295 to Gator's, those two are about the best around.

    This place was a little bit of a let down I'm sad to say. I came in to eat and I was really hungry ready for some good southern cooking and bbq! What I got was rice that wasn't cooked all the way, cold French fries, and the worst bbq baked beans I have ever eaten. I wanted it to taste good I really did try my hardest to find the good out of it but the bad overruled this time and it was disappointing. I wasn't satisfied :/

    The food was very dry. But the service was great. Very old school. But only two waitresses if it got crowded then you would have wait a long time.

    Worst service in the world. A party of 4 was all that was in the restaurant. Sat myself, took 5 minutes to get a waitress to bring a menu and get a drink order. Another customer, regular, came in so the waitress proceeded to spend 15 minutes talking to her. She then went to refill the drinks of the party that was there when I came in, it was then that she realized she hadn't taken my order. Would not been so bad if food was good, mediocre at best. Prices too high for what you get.

    This place USED to be good, what happened?? The chicken was cold, the ribs were so dry, they were like beef jerky!! Service was so-so. But, overall, it was terrible! Will not be back & would suggest that anybody who loves barbeque as much as I do not go here. You will leave crying!

    The BBQ chicken was way to red for me and the brisket was super dry. The service was good and the place was clean. Probably because the food wasn't very good.

    I've recently moved back to the area after being away for 30 years and while out running errands for my new place, I drove past The Pig on Blanding and decided to give it a try. My first impression was that it was a bit unorganized but I found a seat and was waited on in a reasonable amount of time and the food was okay. It was not, "knock your socks off" but it was okay. So the next time I was in the area with my son, we stopped by. This is where "unorganized" is differentiated from "disorganized." Disorganized denotes an attempt at something. Unorganized shows a complete lack of concern. We at down at a table and after 10 minutes, there being three or four other tables and only three servers, we finally got to place our drink order. Another ten minutes passed before we received out drinks and placed our lunch order. About five minutes later another person came into the place, was seated immediately, waited on promptly, and received his food while my son and I sat, trying to catch the server's attention. I had just pulled out cash to place on the table for our drinks when, after nearly an hour, our food arrived. I have a question. How does one make barbecue that is both greasy and dry? How do you not cook fries? How do you stay in business with mediocre food and horrible service? I don't know and I don't care to find out. Perhaps if you suffer through the poor attitudes and what tasted like microwaved food long enough, they teat you better. Me, if I want to pay to be ignored and treated poorly, I'll get married; again. But I'm not bitter.

    My wife and I tried The Pig Bar-B-Q for the first time. It will be our last. My chicken was ok at best but the green beans were cold. I asked the waitress to microwave them to get them hot but the came back warm. My wife had the pulled pork. It was awful. It was inedible no matter how much sauce you put on them. We didn't even take the left overs for our dog. If I had read the reviews we never would have eaten there.

    This is a old favorite of mine the food is consistently good and the sauce is legendary . The pig slow cooks using real wood and serves it hot with good sides and great daily specials. I love the vinegar based mustard sauce. I have been going here since I was a little boy, comfort food for me!
